Information Kiosk

With a view to facilitate seamless transfer of technology and capacity building of farmers on various aspects of farming, from pre sowing to marketing of the produce, in the command areas of irrigation projects, a mobile information kiosk has been developed.

Key features

A mobile integrated computer cum projector is being used as the kiosk. Weighing only 5 kilograms, it is easily portable from one village to another Content has been developed for 3 districts i.e. Adilabad, Kurnool and Krishna. 800 web pages of district specific knowledge and information on agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries, irrigation and agricultural marketing Content in local language (Telugu) Voice over for all pages by professional news readers (lady and gent’s voice on alternate pages), recorded in professional studio. Relevant photos and videos have been placed at appropriate places to supplement the written content. Contents of the kiosk

Best management practices from pre sowing to post harvest management & marketing of the produce for the following crops has been developed and placed in K-YAN:

Agriculture Cereal crops - Rice, including SRI Cultivation, Maize, Sorgam (Jowar)
Pulses- Red Gram, Green Gram, Black Gram and Bengal Gram and Soyabean
